Organophosphonic
Acid water treatment chemicals are the new type of scale inhibitors and corrosion
inhibitors developed in the end of the 1960's. Possesses excellent threshold property.
Minute amounts of Organophosphonic Acid adsorb on nuclei sites and hundreds times of scale
crystallite growth can be inhibited.
Because of the effectiveness of Organophosphonic Acid series is based
not only on their ability to prevent the formation of alkaline scale and non-alkaline
scale in water, but also ,and this is particularly important, on their ability to effect
inhibition in substoichiometric amounts--threshold effect. Therefore, Organophosphonic
Acid are widely employed to inhibit scale formation in industry circulating and closed
water supply system, oil-field water system including connate brine or injection fluid
co-exist with oil in primary and secondary recovery processes of oil well.
When the concentration of Organophosphonic Acid , in pH 6.5-7 water
solution , increased up to 30 milligrams per litter, it can be combined with calcium
cation to form an anticorrosion deposited film on steel surface, especially, when it is
mixed with zinc.
Zinc -Organophosphonic Acid mixtures provide an effective protection on
steel and copper over a wide pH range at lower concentration.
In the middle stage of 1970s, research and development of
Organophosphonic Acid has been started in China.
A series of multiple aspects, wide-ranging, thorough research from
practice to theory, from synthesize to production, from molecular structure to applied
performance of Organophosphonic Acid especially of Nitrilotrimethylenephosphonic Acid and
of its derivatives, has been done by Prof. Li shouchun . It makes an important guiding
meanings to utilize it in water chemical treatment systems.
